Air Force Football All-Decade Team
On May 4th, 2021, Air Force football announced it would name a 2010s all-decade team. This was an idea I had to pay homage to former athletes and help the content lull during the offseason. It also was a way for us to engage fans as they would be determining who was named via fan vote.
We spent weeks preparing for the rollout. It began with determining the structure of the all-decade team along with how the voting would work. We then reviewed potential nominees and narrowed down a list for each position group. Followed by digging through archived photos and having graphic material created. I then established a google form for fans to vote on each position group and selected dates the nominees would be announced.
The campaign spanned just over two months across all Air Force football social media platforms. I led extracting the data and publishing throughout the duration. I had graphics created for each set of nominees, the winner(s), and had two made for an offensive and defensive team.
The campaign ultimately grew even bigger than originaly anticipated. First Command became a sponsor. Current and former athletes joined the conversation on social media to debate who deserved to make the team. Due to the success, Air Force has continued the series and made it into an annual tradition.
