Air Force Coach Chats
I pride myself on my ability to think outside the box. Sometimes this might be playing off a silly social media trend, creating a new social media strategy away from the norm, or developing a new campaign during a difficult time.
With COVID restrictions in place during the entire summer of 2020, we wanted to find a way to keep our fans informed and engage with our coaches even if we couldn’t be together in person. Coach Chats, as we called them, was the first of it’s kind at the Air Force Academy. They were Zoom recorded interviews with all of our head coaches from questions that were sent in by fans. The vidoes led to short and long form content for multiple months. The concept led one of our biggest sponsors in Centura Health became a partner on the campaign.
I developed the idea, coordinated with the interviewer, pitched it to our sponsorship team, setup the site for fan questions, created the release schedule, and published all of the content.
The impact of this project went way beyond the social metrics. We gave our coaches a platform to discuss to speak about their programs. We connected with fans during a time of uncertainty and allowed them to learn about their favorite team.
